5 items for this Texas winter

My top 5 must-have items for this winter in Texas:
A long cardigan that can be layered over tops and when cold have a great scarf over it. - grey goes with everything. I particularly LOVE this one from Lunya.co. The quality of their clothes is amazing - it’s subtle luxury at it’s best. For an alternative I love the cashmere duster from GarnetHill.com - cozy and chic.
A fantastic pair of leather boots - brown or black. These can be worn over jeans, with skirts and opaque tights, no one wants to look like a go go dancer so if you are wearing knee high boots please wear opaque tights with them not bare legs…. Check out the Tenna riding boot in brown or black in dsw.com - amazing value at just below $80, and they come in a wide calf.

Some jersey tops - black, burgundy, white, or any color you love. If patterned, it needs to be chic not loud. The Slim fit Square neck from olidnavy.com is perfect for layering without being bulky.
Of course where would we be without the perfect jean! High-waisted and either skinny leg or wide leg can be dressed up to down. Dark jeans are better for more dressy occasions and be careful of the ripped ones, they need to be styled carefully or you might look like an extra from an 80’s music video!!! Check out Anthropologie.com for the perfect pair, they have an amazing array of brands, shapes, styles, colors and fits. But I particularly love the Pilco high-rise bootcut -they have the cutest leg design.
A beautiful scarf - a large square is fantastic as it can be worn so many ways and always looks chic. You are going to kill me for this one but I am going super high end on this one. I ADORE the monogram denim shawl from LouisVuitton.com. I know it is $590 but trust me, if you look after it with dry cleaning and ironing when needed, it will last you YEARS and up the ante on every outfit you put it with. I have one and I wear it everywhere - for traveling, when someplace is TOO air conditioned, as a blanket for my daughter when she fell asleep anywhere, as a shawl, and all the many ways you can style it as a scarf. It might be the perfect present under the tree this Christmas! Ho ho ho!
